Perla Sardella is a documentary filmmaker and editor, born and raised in Jesi, Italy. She has a MFA in Multimedia Arts and Cinema, from Brera Academy of Fine Arts Milan. Her research deals with moving and still images, and with various formats such as films, photography and video installations. Comfort Zone (2015) had its premiére at Torino Film Festival in the Italiana.corti section. Prendere la parola (Taking the floor) (2019) won the Prospettive first prize at FILMMAKER Festival Milan. Le grand viveur (2020) was in competition in the short and medium-lenght film section at Visions Du Rèel. Some of her works have been showed in Italian and international galleries as well (Museo Burel, The wrong Biennale, Biennale Mulhouse de la jeune création, Fondazione smART). She’s one of the co-founders of Reframing Home Movies association for the repurposing and enhancement of home movies. She lives and works in Genoa.
